Intro

The d/acc Crash Course

From curious observer to informed participant in about 15 minutes.

There's a small, strange-looking word — d/acc — quietly reorganizing how some of the sharpest people in technology think about the future. Plenty of people who throw it around can't actually explain it. By the end of this course, you'll understand it better than most of them do and you'll have used it on your own phone.

Who this is for. You don't need to know what a blockchain is. You don't need to own crypto, write code, or care about any of it. If you've ever felt a low hum of unease about how much of your life runs through a handful of giant companies and wondered whether it has to be that way you're exactly who this is for. Privacy people, open-source people, human-rights people, and the plain curious: welcome. You already belong here. You just might not have the word yet.

The deal. The core course is five short sections, about 15 minutes start to finish. Hit a term you don't recognize? There's a two-minute glossary in the extras — glance at it, come back. When you're done, the course opens into optional deep dives you can wander through at your own pace, or skip entirely.

What you'll walk away with. One sharp question you can aim at any app, device, or service in your life: does this hand power to me, or quietly take it away? Plus a simple way to score the answer. By the final section you won't just understand d/acc. You'll have audited something you own and made one concrete change. That's the whole point. This is a course you do, not just read.

Ready? The first fork in the road is right ahead.

One last thing

Track your progress if you want to.

We use an LMS which means if you create a free account with your email, you get a personal dashboard that tracks which lessons you've completed, pick up where you left off, and have a smoother experience overall. Also it helps us to understand how many students we have and make strategic decisions about Academy and courses

No obligation. You can go through the whole course without signing up.

But if you want the dashboard, it takes 5 seconds.
