Academy intro

Hi!

Few things before we dinve into the ourse.

This course is inspired by a new wave of thinkers, builders, and activists. From Vitalik Buterin and the Ethereum Foundation to privacy advocates at Web3Privacy Now, who are reviving and reimagining the original cypherpunk spirit for today’s world.

Why it matters:
Thirty years after The Cypherpunk Manifesto, privacy, autonomy, and open-source ethics are more relevant than ever.

The Neo-Cypherpunk movement expands those ideals beyond code going deep into into culture, care, and community.
It’s about building a freer internet together, not by escaping the system, but by hacking, remixing, and re-imagining it.

What you’ll learn:

  • What Neo-Cypherpunk means and how it evolved from the original 1990s ethos
  • How privacy became political and cultural
  • Practical ways to live cypherpunk values in your daily digital life
  • How memes, art, and collaboration shape the next wave of digital resistance

Time required: ~30 minutes

By the end, you’ll be able to answer:

  • What is Neo-Cypherpunk?
  • How is it different from the classic Cypherpunk movement?
  • What does it mean to live these values even if you don’t write code?
