About the Lecturer and EUCI

In this course is created and presented by Vyara Savova, a legal researcher and policy strategist specialising in the intersection of blockchain, decentralisation, and data protection. Vyara is the Senior Policy Lead at the European Crypto Initiative (EUCI), a Brussels-based advocacy organisation focused on shaping fair and innovation-friendly crypto regulation in Europe. 

EUCI works with developers, researchers, regulators, and industry leaders to ensure that European crypto regulation enables rather than hinders decentralised innovation. Their contributions to MiCA, the AML framework, and now the GDPR debate have been widely recognised across both policy and tech circles.

Before You Begin: Help Shape the Future of Blockchain Privacy in Europe

We decided to do this course for a reason - the EDPB recently published Guidelines on blockchain and GDPR that represent a critical turning point and a real threat to the industry. They not only shape how public, decentralised infrastructure is viewed under EU law, but could also determine whether such systems even remain possible.

At EUCI, we are preparing a formal response to these Guidelines, and we need your help!
